This month's 50th anniversary featured partner is Heart of Indiana United Way. For nearly 100 years, United Way has fought for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in our community.

“Where the happy girl at?” asked a patient as he walked into the family practice department at Open Door’s downtown Muncie health center. It did not come as a surprise that he meant Rachel Pounds, a family practice medical assistant.

This month's 50th anniversary partner feature is The Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie (BGCM). Since opening its doors in 1933, BCGM has provided a safe, structured, and positive environment for generations of local children and youth. Today, they serve more than 600 young people in after-school and summer programs across three locations.

Lacey Nally’s best days at work are when she’s able to help someone with an urgent or specific need. “It feels like a victory when I have the right resources or knowledge to help someone overcome a hurdle,” said Lacey, an Open Door WIC Nutritionist in Madison County.
